Bengal FAQS

1. Are your cat’s registered with any pedigreed cat registries?

Yes, our cats are registered with The International Cat Association (TICA). We are also members of The International Bengal Cat Society (TIBCS) and The International Bengal Cat Connection (TIBCC).

2. Are all the cats you sell registered?

Yes; all litters are registered. Our kitten registrations papers are sent to the buyer when we receive a veterinary certificate confirming spay or neuter.

3. Is registration information available to be seen prior to purchase?

It is available upon request.

4. Do you have a purchase contract available for viewing prior to purchase?

Yes; it is also available upon request.

5. How does your cattery handle spaying and neutering pets?

We prefer our kittens to weigh at least 5 pounds at the time they are altered. This decreases the chance of complications from anesthesia administered during the surgerical procedure. A healthy kitten will usually weigh 5 pounds at 5 months of age. We require all pet kittens be spay/neutered by a licensed veterinarian no later than 6 months of age.

6. Do you offer a health guarantee? Is there a copy of what is covered available to be viewed before purchase?

Yes; it is available for viewing upon request.

7. At what age do you consider it preferable to let them go to their new homes?

We prefer to keep the kittens until they reach 12 weeks of age. By that time, the kitten's immune system is strong enough for the kitten to leave the cattery. This is important for many obvious reasons; however it is also necessary in enabling the kitten to overcome the early stresses of change. Additionally, their socialization is also well underway at this age.

8. Do you vaccinate your breeding cats and kittens prior to sale? And if so, do you provide records showing this?

Yes, we vaccinate our kittens and de-worm them prior to them going to their new homes. We provide a vaccination/health record to the new buyer when the kitten is released to the buyer. We also include one of our veterinarian’s business cards for any needed consultation by the buyer or buyer’s vet.

9. Do you allow visits to see your cattery?

We encourage all interested parties to visit our in home cattery on appointment. We feel it is important to know where and how your kitten/cat is raised, and to personally observe health conditions. Parents are usually available to meet. We think it very important to personally witness the wonderful temperament and beauty of the parents. Temperament is usually inherited.

11. Do you ship cats/kittens?

12. Do you provide information to aid in raising your cats?
